New things...

For the first time I experienced my first taste of Indian food with my pledge class, and it was absolutely delicious! I received the menu and noticed it said 'Only as Spicy as you are'.  Being that I never had Indian before and the scale went from a 1 to 10, I decided to stick with a mild four since I wasn't trying to go for the 'steam coming out of my ears look'.

Before I ordered they brought this out...Not exactly sure what it is, but it was soooo good! The green sauce tasted like a minted herb and the brown was sweet, together it was perfection!

I had an experienced India Garden food goer, pick out my meal: Chicken Tikka Masala (which was absolutely fantastic)

After eating some good food we discussed some fundraising ideas and came up with a nerve racking, fun, crazy, scary, exciting idea.... hence my "im not really sure how i feel about this" face.  I know, I know, I look super attractive when im contemplating things.

I am going to teach an hour long yoga class open to the University of Pittsburgh students!!! I have never done it, but it has always been on my ultimate life to do list, I just never thought the opportunity would present itself so soon!!! There is so much I have to start getting ready, like what poses I want to do, the sequences I want to go through, the background information I want to be able to provide, music, etc etc etc!! Ah I wish I lived closer to my favorite yoga instructor, Sharon!

So my questions for you are:
What are your favorite yoga poses?  What is your favorite kind of music to listen to when practicing yoga?!! And what is your favorite Indian Dish?!!?

Well I am off to practice some yoga now & go for a run.

Never a dull moment

Dinner at my house goes a little something like this, "Jake stop goofing off and playing with your food", "Ava stop reading your book", "Ava eat your rice", "Jake finish your milk", "Okay, I'm being serious this time, you aren't going to get dessert if you don't eat your food!" < -- And it is then that the food quickly dissapears off of the plate! Goodness, there is definately no one that has to ask me to eat something twice!!  I love love love food, and I especially love food when its cooked on the grille!  There is nothing that screams summer more than the burgers, salmon, kabobs, corn, veggies, and wings with fresh grille marks on them!  But hey who said you couldn't grille when there is snow outside?!

i <3 wings, all kinds, all times of the years
  hot & spicy wings
 sweet honey wings

& and I completely and totally had seconds, maybe even thirds.  Lets face it, 3 wings is just not enough.
& as much as fruit is sweet and can be considered a dessert...
there is just something about cookies that is sooo much better!

Dont you think?!

Taking it all in

Do you know that person that just seems to be so good at everything? That one person that can just pick something up and automatically become an expert at it.  For me, that would be Sam, my best friend since fifth grade. Jealous? Not a bit, it's not like I have been practicing for five years or anything ; )
Since we are both training for the half marathon this May1st (his first time, my second) we decided to go for a run.  It was perfect 50 degree weather, I couldn't have asked for anything more.

So we ran for while

Raced up some long curvey hills..

Then we got to the top and took it all in
&& practiced some sweet yoga moves

But since I didn't want to be escorted to the hospital, I decided to go with an easier pose

Then I refueled with a big bowl of oats and fresh fruit!

I really wanted some coffee to add to this but I had an appointment for laser teeth whitening and figured it would be best not to stain my teeth even more.  And just a word to the wise, anyone in their right mind who gets that done is absolutely crazy.  It is so painful. I was practically holding my jaw the entire day, although that didn't help one little bit. I must like pain, considering I have done it before.
But to end my day on a goodd note I ate some chinese and opened up some joy...

Do you believe in fortunes coming true?!?
&& is Taylor too much to ask for??

I love being home because...

I eat hills for breakfast.
Then I eat these, because I have the best mom in the world who makes delicious whole wheat banana&blueberry pancakes.

I get to play lego's with the most handsome little man in the world

I can eat all the chocolate mousse dome cake my little heart desires, good choice Jake : )
I can run with my most favorite running partner in the universe, my mom <3

I get to run in 50 degree weather filled with beautiful hills, blue skies, and best of all I get to see two skunks consumating their Valentines Day love. gross

 Yumm! Logan loves smelly Brookes!!

What's your favorite part of being home?!

i'll be back

The beautiful thing about running, is you can go anywhere.  So today I finally decided to cross the bridge.

I saw Pittsburgh from a different angle.

I found some love on the ground.

And then the heavens opened up, and led me to this place... it was too good to be true.
I went in, sweaty, smelly, and out of breathe.  I drooled over the 55 different milk shake flavors they had, and sadly only left with their business card.
Oh but I will go back, and trust me, there will be pictures!
