For the first time I experienced my first taste of Indian food with my pledge class, and it was absolutely delicious! I received the menu and noticed it said 'Only as Spicy as you are'. Being that I never had Indian before and the scale went from a 1 to 10, I decided to stick with a mild four since I wasn't trying to go for the 'steam coming out of my ears look'.
Before I ordered they brought this out...Not exactly sure what it is, but it was soooo good! The green sauce tasted like a minted herb and the brown was sweet, together it was perfection!
I had an experienced India Garden food goer, pick out my meal: Chicken Tikka Masala (which was absolutely fantastic)
After eating some good food we discussed some fundraising ideas and came up with a nerve racking, fun, crazy, scary, exciting idea.... hence my "im not really sure how i feel about this" face. I know, I know, I look super attractive when im contemplating things.
I am going to teach an hour long yoga class open to the University of Pittsburgh students!!! I have never done it, but it has always been on my ultimate life to do list, I just never thought the opportunity would present itself so soon!!! There is so much I have to start getting ready, like what poses I want to do, the sequences I want to go through, the background information I want to be able to provide, music, etc etc etc!! Ah I wish I lived closer to my favorite yoga instructor, Sharon!
So my questions for you are:
What are your favorite yoga poses? What is your favorite kind of music to listen to when practicing yoga?!! And what is your favorite Indian Dish?!!?
Well I am off to practice some yoga now & go for a run.
Mmmm... that Indian food looks delicious! I LOVE Indian food!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool that you're going to teach yoga! I love yoga!
Haha - I first I thought the last picture was upside down ;)

I'm just starting to get on the Indian train so I don't know what I like since I went to an Indian buffet. I want to go to a sit down restaurant though and be able to order something spicy since I like it hot!
ReplyDeleteah i haven't had Indian food in YEARS!! WOW look at that yoga pose.. that is so so impressive- i wish i could do that!
ReplyDeleteI have never had Indian food...Is it like Thai I LOVE pad thai.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with that class. I've taught a few too, it was fun! Favorite pose? I don't know but I know I like gentle and relaxing yoga more than "power yoga," personally. Miriam@Meatless Meals For Meat Eaters
ReplyDeleteI love listening to Enya while practicing yoga? Favortie pose? Pigeon. It's the best stretch for my hips!
ReplyDeletehahaha I'm so weird. I don't like to listen to tranquil music when I'm doing yoga. I think part of the reason is because I like to do P90x yoga, and it's not really the "calm" type of yoga. You know? So I usually use my standard rap/hip hop playlist. haha
ReplyDeleteWow the food looks delicious!I don't think I have ever had Indian food but these pictures sure make me want to!
ReplyDeleteThats awesome that you are teaching a class! Good luck :)

Oooh my gosh! Yoga! How fun. I'd be totally scared. But what a great opportunity!!!! My favorite music is either spacey yoga music (you know, with crazy chanting and such, the hippie in me) and then stuff like Jack Johnson or Jason Myraz... fun but still calming. ;)
ReplyDeleteIndian food is incredible. I love it all. I'm getting into Ethiopian too- it's all delicious!
Norah Jones! I take yoga classes at Temple and I love her playlist
